A Legacy of Compassion and Community
Jack McGinley’s journey as a "history maker" for Catholic Charities began with a simple yet profound moment. While serving as Board Chair of Pittsburgh Mercy Hospital, Jack was struck by the volunteer efforts of physicians at the Catholic Charities Free Health Care Center. This encounter opened the door to a deeper involvement with Catholic Charities, an organization whose mission resonated with Jack’s lifelong values.
Jack’s commitment to service is woven into the fabric of his life. Raised in a family that championed Catholic missions and shaped by a Catholic education at Central Catholic, St. Bonaventure, and Duquesne, Jack learned early on the importance of giving back. His experiences in the community further reinforced this belief, leading him to see the profound impact one can have by simply doing what they can.
“I don’t believe that there is a specific metric that equates a dollar of a gift to a part of an outcome,” Jack explains. For him, philanthropy is about trust and relationships. He knows that when he contributes to Catholic Charities, his gift will be used to address the greatest needs, helping to create a collective impact that changes lives. "Small pieces add up to create influential results."
For Jack, Catholic Charities is more than an organization—it’s an effective delivery system for help to those who need it most. His story is a powerful reminder of the difference one person can make and how, together, we can shape a better future.
Jack McGinley’s legacy of compassion and community continues to inspire us all. Join us in making history, just like Jack.
