ABOUT OUR ALLEGHENY COUNTY OUTREACH

Made possible in part by a grant from the Allegheny County Department of Human Services (DHS), Catholic Charities' Allegheny County Outreach provides a continuum of programs and services to all Allegheny County residents, regardless of religious affiliation.  Our programs include:

Case Management: Case Management is at the core of our programming at Catholic Charities.  Our skilled, qualified Case Managers evaluate all new clients to find out what their needs are in multiple areas.  They then guide clients to the appropriate services within or outside the agency, before following through to ensure that all the needs identified have been met.  Our goal is to not only help those we serve survive immediate crises, but also work towards their lasting stability.

Employment Preparedness Program: Catholic Charities' Employment Preparedness Program is an intensive 7-week course that trains job seekers in the skills they need to get and keep work.  The program includes computer skills; searching, application, and interviewing techniques; and "soft" skills like confidence and clear communication.

Modern Office Systems Training (MOST): MOST is offered through a collaboration between Catholic Charities and Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC), giving clients the skills they need to succeed office jobs.

Pregnancy and Parenting Support Services: At our Allegheny County Outreach, we provide free, confidential pregnancy testing; counseling and education; and free infant-care items to expectant parents and the parents of children up to the age of 2.  All Pregnancy and Parenting services are free and available to all who approach us for help.  Find out about Pregnancy and Parenting Support at Catholic Charities.

Referrals: We provide referrals to other social service agencies to address needs that are beyond the scope of our programs.
