Annual Giving Manager

Position Overview:

The Annual Giving Manager is responsible for building and growing an effective annual giving program. This position will administer multiple direct mail projects, manage donor data, statistical reporting and analysis, mailing list management, and donor prospect research.

Key Performance Objectives:

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive annual appeal program, including strategies to incorporate e-campaigns, giving societies, focus on new donors, and increasing average gift amounts.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Development and other staff to develop fundraising and communication strategies.
  • Plan and implement multiple direct mail appeals annually, with a high degree of customization and emotional appeal.
  • Serve as an active prospect identifier, targeting prospects for personal visits and moving annual donors through the donor pyramid into the next giving level. Make creative connections between and among people, events, programs, and their associated circles.
  • Oversee and manage the daily operation of the Advancement database (Raiser's Edge), which tracks gift/financial and biographical information on alumni, friends, and donors.
  • Provide support to team members by assisting with creation of reports and mailing lists, developing and implementing policies and procedures, and serving as the advancement liaison with central accounting and IT.
  • Develops and maintains efficient systems for data cleansing, data entry, gift processing, prospect research, and relationship management.
  • Oversee budgets, deadlines, goals and objectives.


  • A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field is required
  • A minimum of three years of experience managing direct mail campaigns and complex databases is required.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge for Windows or similar donor data bases is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of fundraising principles and practices is required.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and deadlines are required.
  • A demonstrated record of maintaining confidentiality and accuracy with donor records is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills are required.
  • Previous supervisory experience is required.
  • Act 33/34 clearances required.
