Have you made your winter plans yet?

Daytime winter warming station opening soon

Catholic Charities is preparing to open our daytime winter warming station, and we’re looking for help to create an inviting and safe environment.

We believe all people have the right to safe, indoor shelter, especially during extreme temperatures, which are right around the corner. Those without ready access run the risk of hypothermia, which can lead to death, even in temperatures as mild as 50 degrees. No one in the Pittsburgh region should have to face this danger.

We have three ways you can help:

  1. Donate hot meals, non-perishable snacks and clean winter wear for our guests
    • Oatmeal packets, individual sugar and cream servings, breakfast bars
    • Clean hats, gloves and scarves
    • Nutritious hot lunches and dinner
    • For more info: smcmur@ccpgh.org

  2. Volunteer your time for conversation or card and board games with our guests
  3. Make a financial donation to defray costs of operation

Thank you for sharing your warmth with those who need it most.
