Senior Services
In the later years of life, needs and desires often change. Catholic Charities recognizes these changes and works to help senior citizens of Southwestern Pennsylvania maintain their vitality and independence.
We provide seniors and their families with information about community resources and connect them to parish-based volunteers, social ministers and basic needs.
For men aged 50 or older who are homeless, or at risk for becoming homeless, we provide a room, meals and support services at St. Joseph's House of Hospitality in the Hill District.
Our innovative Challenges Senior Center operates in conjunction with the Lawrence County Area Agency on Aging to provide recreational and social activities for active seniors. When possible, we provide services to help senior remain safely in their own homes and avoid nursing homes.
