Information and Referral
Where can you turn when you need help but you are not sure how or where to get it?
Call Catholic Charities Information and Referral Services from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday at 412.456.6976 or 800.321.CARE. Catholic Charities answers an average of 1,000 calls a month from people in need of utility and general assistance, furniture, housing, and food.
The staff of Information and Referral Services aids people in finding emergency assistance with their housing or utility bills. Information and Referral Services screens applicants for customer assistance programs at Duquesne Light, Dominion Peoples, and Columbia Gas companies. Staff also screens applicants for the Dollar Energy Grant Program.
Once
in a while, life can deal us an unexpected blow, and we find ourselves
in need of emergency relief or tangible assistance. Catholic Charities
helps to cushion these blows by providing limited emergency relief
as funds are available.
Information and Referral Services also provides emergency relief
to disaster victims here in Southwestern Pennsylvania, through
the Diocese of Pittsburgh's Disaster Fund.
