Bishop's Circle for Catholic Charities
Membership Responsibilities
The Bishop's Circle for Catholic Charities is a membership society of Catholic Charities' major donors who join together to expand the resources that allow the agency to grow and to serve our poor and disadvantaged neighbors more effectively. Members of the Bishop's Circle include individuals drawn from leadership positions in business, in philanthropy, and in the community. Members of the Bishop's Circle agree to take on the following three responsibilities:
- To make a significant annual gift to Catholic Charities of $2,500 or more. Some members make their gifts by way of installments throughout the year. Many make a one-time gift. Others designate Catholic Charities to receive all or a portion of their United Way pledges through Contributor Choice.
- To help promote the Bishop's Annual Dinner in some meaningful way, by, for example, serving on the Host Committee, making a corporate underwriting gift, or soliciting other gifts. Many Bishop's Circle members make personal gifts to the Bishop's Circle for Catholic Charities, then make substantial donations to the Bishop's Annual Dinner through their businesses.
- To help identify and recruit others to join the Bishop's Circle and support Catholic Charities. Introducing potential supporters to Catholic Charities is as simple as taking a friend or associate to lunch with Patricia McCullough, Executive Director of Catholic Charities, hosting a small gathering in one's home or other venue, or simply making a phone call.
